Green bullet The general rule for dealing with it is to remember this saying:

"I before E - except after C"

believe - chief - friend - thief - liesure

Green bullet Here are some examples of EI following C:

ceiling - receive - deceit - conceive

Green bullet These rules hold good for most words - but there are exceptions:

either - neither - foreign - height - seize
