This
site promotes the life and works of Sir Francis Bacon and supports his authorship.
It is very different from the other sites that are reviewed here, being very
colourful and making greater use of multimedia. In fact, the 'statement of purpose'
included in the first page makes reference to the aim of 'entertaining and enlightening'
the reader.
One of the items included in the site is the 'Francis Bacon Slide
Show', a sequence of 33 images which tell the story of his life
and offer 'evidence' of his authorship. The author also provides
a summary of the evidence
used to support his case.
Some of the claims made by the author concerning Francis Bacon,
challenge accepted historical truths. An example of this is the
author's theory that Queen Elizabeth I did not die childless but
was, in fact, the mother of Bacon. Such claims mean that this site
is perhaps not as reliable as the others listed here. However,
it does make a case for Bacon as the author of Shakespeare's works
and, throughout the last two hundred years, he has been seen as
one of the leading alternative contenders.
